Everybody knows fashion comes in, out and back in again before you know it. So to help you decide what to keep, store and throw away here is a little breakdown for you!

A "FASHION FAD" is a something that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze.

Store the midriff top away....forever

A " FASHION TREND" is the general direction in which fashion moves

Military - a fashion trend that keeps rising and rising

and

A "FASHION CLASSIC" is a style or particular item of fashion that you see and know immediately that you MUST have. It is a timeless piece that you can picture yourself wearing for many years to come.

Invest in and keep a classic blazer jacket

Midriff tops were introduced into everyday fashion in the 1950's sexual revolution as a social rebelling of young people. This continued well into the 1990's making navel piercing and stomach tattoos very popular, this fad has bubbled up.

These days mid drift tops are still paired with high waisted shorts but the tops are more reflecting bra's so there is more flesh exposed in the middle.

Military fashion and influence came from the second world war when the supply of fabrics ran out due to money and amount of businesses not having enough people to work. It was about functionality and utility and started in the 18th & 19th Centuries. Military popped up around 2008/09 as a trend and changed in 2010/11 to neutral colours, army greens and embelished with gold trimmings.

  

Blazer jackets came in really big in the 1960's by English indie bands influencing the public people to follow this trend.The reefer jacket was of naval origin, and described as a short double breasted jacket worn by sailors in harsh weather, when they perform duties such as reefing the sails. It is descendants of this which are now commonly described by the term blazer. Blazers became popular among British Mods in the early 1960s Various photos from 1964 and 1965.Photos of mod icons The Who from 1964 wearing boating blazers. Other mod band, Small Faces, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, this trend has bubbled up from fashion icons of the time.

Blazers are now more of a dress piece and a symbol of power and classic style in women.
