Sustainable Fashion

For the past couple of weeks in class we have been focusing on sustainable fashion and eco friendly + loving designers! 
Top points for those designers out there who keep us well dressed and environmentally friendly at the same time.


All students were asked to bring in 3 pieces of old clothing to be chopped, hacked and completely modified to create a new sustainable outfit in the pressure test!
Each group then picked a designer of this category and created mood boards suited to the particular designer.


From here we chose a few garments from the recycled pile and the pressure test began!


Here is a quick little rundown of eco friendly thread maker, Lisa Gorman:

Gorman is a fresh, modern women’s wear label, established in Melbourne by Lisa Gorman. The label is recognised for the use of quality fabrics, great shapes and customised prints to create clothes that work well with the Australian way of life! Today, Gorman is most noted for the labels strong stance for environmentally friendly practises.

• ‘Prints Revolution’- Quirky patterns = bold statements- thankyou Muicca Prada!

• ‘Mid Length’- Introducing the new and improved hemline with the return of ladylike dressing. Skirts on the rise.
